Say What? by DoubleTrouble Scraps

Number three in the I-can't-believe-I-forgot-to-blog-about series are the Say What? template sets. These fun sets came about when my boys started talking more & asking questions all.day.long. Can't believe I wanted them to talk! I made this set in both 12x12 & 8.5x11 sizes & you can pick up either of the sets for 50% until Sunday, May 26th.

Here are some layouts I made last year, I really need to make some updated ones thanks to all the great quotes the boys keep coming up with. I used the kit Interview Me by B2N2 Scraps for these, it's a great complement to the templates!

These two lovely layouts were made by one of the Stuff to Scrap Creative Team members, Chika; just love the faces!

And here's a cute one by Kimberly of Leaving a Legacy Designs using her kit Never Fear, Super Dad's Here!

Positively Paisley by B2N2 Scraps

I just love what Becky of B2N2 Scraps is doing right now, she's making a personal kit for each member of her creative team! We each got to pick out the theme, colors & even decide what elements would be included. My kit won't be out for a while but the first one is here & it's called Positively Paisley.

This beautiful kit was made for CT member Daphne who asked for a kit that was inspired by certain patterns & colors by Vera Bradley. If you've never checked out their stuff, you should the quality is amazing & even if you're not a huge floral fan (like me) there are several lines in neutral/solid colors to pick from; I've got my eye on several of the products in the Classic Black collection.

The paisley papers are hand placed by Becky so they are very unique. You can use this kit to scrap any of your photos, even boy photos like I did below so it's quite versatile! Positively Paisley is on sale for 30% off for a limited time.

And here's my little dude Ian wearing his Daddy's hat, here's hoping that Ian's head doesn't get any bigger!

We Are Memory Keepers: Our Tags by Just For Fun Designs

Every month this year, Adriana's Cafe has been releasing a kit in her We Are Memory Keepers Series to help scrap the stories of our lives. This series is multi-designer collaboration & to see all the parts of the collaboration you'll need to take a look at both Scraps N Pieces & Stuff to Scrap as some of the parts are exclusive to each store.

For May, Adriana has teamed up with Kelly of Just For Fun Designs to make We Are Memory Keepers: Our Tags & you can pick up Kelly's part over at at Scraps N Pieces right now!

I just love how this layout turned out, I must play with photo actions more often!

Circles Never End by DoubleTrouble Scraps

The next in my series of templates I never blogged about are my Circles Never End sets. I had originally made two templates for our Labor Day Facebook hop last September & I loved them so much I had to expand on the idea.

Included in the set are the two templates from the hop plus four new templates to go with them. Both sets are on sale for 50% off through Sunday, May 19th; that's a great deal!

I these these are my favorite templates to scrap with right now, I have a hard time not using them for everything. I made these two layouts a few months ago using B2N2 Scraps' kits;on the left I used What A Hoot & on the right is Everyday Love. Don't ask me what Jake is doing in the picture on the left, I truly don't know. My only explanation is that he's a 4-year-old boy. Should be enough!

And here's one I scrapped just this week using We Are Memory Keepers - Our Tags by Just For Fun Designs. I'll be back to tell you about this great kit later today!

Ready Aim Fire by Just For Fun Designs

If you've got little ones who love running around with their Nerf or dart guns, then you'll want to pick up Ready Aim Fire from Just For Fun Designs. This kit was inspired by her boys and their love of dart guns but the fun colors in the kit allow it to be used for many other themes as well. The kit will be on sale for 50% off until May 21st so snag it while it's at a great price!

This is from an event we went to last year called Little Boots Rodeo, there were a bunch of cowboy themed games including a shooting gallery. Not sure Jake actually hit anything but he had fun trying!

May Build A Kits at Stuff to Scrap

I was so excited to see the color palette for the May 2013 Build A Kits because it was all about the guys ... wait a minute. LOL, in case you were wondering we got a little mixed up on what color palette was for which month so June will be about the ladies. Life is all about changing things up & going with the flow!

Either way I was happy because with three guys in my house I'm always on the look out for great guy themed kits & there is some great variety this month. Remember that if you purchase 3 or more BAKs in one transaction, you can use the code MAYBAK_BUY3_SAVE50% to get 50% off all the May 2013 BAKs in your cart!

I had to get on the fun with some templates, nothing special but with plenty of space for photos of your guy(s). Please note all the templates in Handsome Mish Mash were previous blog freebies but have been updated & quality checked.

If you want to see how much fun I had with these, just check out my layout. Can you guess what was so much fun?

OK, watching then 3-year-old Ian try to ride a fake bull (& he did pretty good at it!) was fun but that's not it. What was fun was using about four different May BAKs to make the layout! I just kept grabbing papers & elements from the different packs & as you can see, they all worked together to create a fun layout. Click on any of the previews below to check out the parts.

B2N2 Scraps also whipped up a set of templates for the May BAKs called Templates: All Star. These would be great for any pictures that need that star treatment!

I didn't use one of the BAKs for my layout, instead I used Becky's collaboration with Gettin' Scrappy with Britt, Ready, Set, Swim! to scrap pictures from Ian & Jake's first swim class.

Bigger and Better by DoubleTrouble Scraps

I've had a few sort-of-new template packs in the store for a while but never actually blogged about them so I'm going to be rectifying that over the next few weeks! First up is my Bigger and Better set that was a previous store freebie. When I got my spiffy new camera I discovered that the photo size was much bigger than my previous camera & to take advantage of that, I made these templates to show off big photos. Since this was a previous store freebie, please check your stash before buying!

Here are two of my layouts. On the left I used Mommy's Little Boy Revamp by B2N2 Scraps & on the right parts of the March BAK from The Scrappy Kat.

And here are some I found in the gallery! Both are by Jenn J; on the left she used We Are Memory Keepers: Our Buttons by Adriana's Cafe & on the right she used Tomgirl by B2N2 Scraps

My Mother, My Friend by B2N2 Scraps

If you're looking for a non-traditional Mother's Day kit then look no further then the new collaboration between B2N2 Scraps & Flutterbye Faery Designs, My Mother, My Friend. While the color palette has blues & greens the kit is still soft & feminine for any picture

I decided to use the kit to make some Mother's Day cards for the grandmas, I used the lottery ticket scratch off idea to make them fun. I had each of my boys sign their names on a small section of paper & then covered their signatures with the scratch off paint. I hope the grandmas find this as cute as I do!

On The Fly by Just For Fun Designs

Spring is a time to start doing all those fun outdoor activities, like fishing! And for all you fishermen/women out there, On The Fly from Just For Fun Designs is just the kit you need to scrap those pictures of the perfect catch.

While we haven't done any real fishing yet (but it's on the to-do list this summer) my boys did get a chance to do some pretend fishing at a friend's birthday party recently. I know real fishing is much more frustrating so here's hoping they'll enjoy it!

Spring Fling by Wendy Tunison Designs

Hi everyone, it's Stephanie the hybrid chick again! Ever had a panic moment where you needed a little gift for someone fast? Like really, really fast? I've been there in the past but have found a great way to take care of a quick gift: Candy & digital hybrids!

For my latest oh-my-goodness-I-need-something-fast adventure, I luckily had some candy hanging around the house & the lovely new kit from Wendy, Spring Fling from the May GingerScraps Buffet. Here's a look at all the pieces to this great collection.

Just lovely & totally giving off the spring vibe. I needed to whip up something quick to give out to my boys' teachers & while scrounging around in my house for ideas, I came across a pack of Starburst candies. Score!

In my opinion, candy is the easiest thing to dress up with a quick hybrid project. For loose candies like Hershey's Kisses, the fastest way would be to make a quick bag topper, pop the candy in a clear Ziploc bag & attach the topper. Or if you have a bar wrapped candy, just make a quick candy wrapper to go around the bar.

For the Starburst candy, I did some quick measurements to find out how long the pack was & high the sides were. Bonus points for square candy making those measurements easier! In Photoshop, I made a rectangle that was the side height x 5 & the length of the bar. When making a candy wrapper, it's always important to add a little to the height to make sure the wrapper covers the whole candy.

Then I found the middle point of the rectangle & started designing. Since I knew that each side was about .75 inches wide I was able to use guide lines to keep the important part of my design, which was the text, from being creased when I folded the wrapper. However, I do love making a wrap around design so I had some of my cluster go past the guide lines.

To finish off the candy, all I had to do was print, cut & wrap! As you can see below, this made a very cute & very easy gift.

I think the whole project took me about 30 minutes from start to finish, the longest part was making my cluster look pretty, I'm still working on that particular skill! Once I had the first wrapper done, it was simply a matter of getting my hands on more candy & printing out more wrappers. If you've got kids who are allowed to use scissors (mine aren't), you could set up a little assembly line & get a bunch done in no time at all. Hope this has given you some good ideas for fast (& yummy) gifts!
